  • spoon
  • Skillet or toaster oven

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 ciabatta rolls or 1 small ciabatta loaf, split
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, turkey, or deli meat sliced
  • 2 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup romaine, arugula, or spinach washed and dried
  • 1 medium tomato thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • pickles, banana peppers, or roasted red peppers optional

Instructions

  • Slice the ciabatta rolls or loaf in half with a serrated knife.
  • Toast the ciabatta lightly in a skillet or toaster oven until the edges are crisp.
  • Mix mayonnaise, garlic powder, lemon juice, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  • Spread the garlic mayo over the cut sides of the ciabatta.
  • Layer the chicken, turkey, or deli meat evenly on the bottom half of the bread.
  • Add the cheese slices over the meat and toast again if you want the cheese melted.
  • Add the greens, tomato slices, and optional pickles or peppers.
  • Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
  • Close the sandwich, press gently, and slice in half.
  • Serve right away while the bread is crisp.

Notes

Toast the ciabatta before assembling so it stays crisp and holds up to juicy fillings. Pat tomatoes and pickled toppings dry to prevent soggy bread.
