Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Handheld milk frother or whisk
  • Mug
  • Kettle

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 jasmine green tea bags or 2 tsp loose-leaf jasmine green tea
  • 0.75 cup water heated to about 175°F
  • 1 cup whole milk or oat milk
  • 1 tsp honey adjust to taste
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • dried jasmine flowers optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Heat water to about 175°F — bring to a boil then let sit for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Steep the jasmine green tea bags or loose-leaf tea in the hot water for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags or strain the loose leaf. Stir in the honey and vanilla extract while the tea is still warm.
  • In a small saucepan, warm the milk over medium-low heat until steaming but not boiling, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Use a handheld frother or whisk to froth the warm milk for 20 to 30 seconds until foamy.
  • Pour the brewed jasmine tea into a mug.
  • Pour the frothed milk over the tea, holding back the foam with a spoon and spooning it on top last.
  • Sprinkle dried jasmine flowers on top if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

Brew the tea stronger than usual since the milk dilutes the flavor. Use water at 175°F to avoid bitterness. Steep no longer than 3 minutes. Warm milk gently without boiling for the best foam. Froth immediately before pouring for maximum foam.
