Equipment

  • Bundt pan
  • large mixing bowl
  • Basting brush
  • Serving board

Ingredients

Monkey Bread

  • 2 cans refrigerated flaky biscuit dough standard size, each can about 16 oz

Garlic Herb Butter

  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced up to 6 cloves for stronger garlic flavor
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped plus extra for garnish
  • 0.25 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese plus extra for layering
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • pinch of red pepper flakes optional
  • flaky sea salt for sprinkling over assembled bread before baking

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a bundt pan thoroughly with butter or cooking spray, coating every surface and crevice.
  • Combine melted butter, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, parsley, parmesan, salt, and red pepper flakes in a large bowl. Stir to combine.
  • Cut each biscuit into quarters — about 64 pieces total. Working in batches, toss each piece in the garlic herb butter until fully coated.
  • Place a layer of coated dough pieces in the bundt pan. Scatter extra parmesan and fresh herbs over the layer. Repeat until all pieces are in the pan, finishing with parmesan and herbs on top.
  • Drizzle any remaining garlic herb butter over the assembled bread. Sprinkle generously with flaky sea salt.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the top is deeply golden.
  • Cool in the pan for exactly 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving board. Brush with any remaining garlic butter, scatter fresh parsley over the top, and serve immediately.

Notes

Grease the bundt pan thoroughly including every crevice. Coat each dough piece completely in the garlic herb butter. Scatter herbs and parmesan between layers rather than mixing only into the butter. Invert after exactly 10 minutes — not sooner, not later. Brush with extra garlic butter immediately after inverting. Best served warm immediately from the pan.
